Setting up your product catalog
Add the products you sell, their prices, fabrics and options, so quotes price themselves.
Why the catalog comes first
Every quote line is priced from a product in your catalog. Until you have at least one product with a price, the quote builder has nothing to price a measured window with.
Start from the default catalog
Go to Admin › Products. On an empty catalog, click Seed default catalog. It adds five categories (Indoor Blinds, Curtains, Tracks & Hardware, Hardware & Accessories, Services) and common products such as Roller Blackout, Sunscreen and Dual Blind, each with the usual options already set up. Rename, hide or delete anything you don’t sell, and use Add product for anything missing.
Set each product’s price
Open a product and go to the Pricing tab. Under Purchase (cost), enter what you pay: per square metre for blinds, per linear metre for curtains, or per unit. Under Sell (quote), choose Formula (your cost × margin, plus freight when you import) or a Flat sell price, and set a minimum charge so small windows stay profitable. Click Save changes.
Pricing by the square foot
Prices are entered per square metre. To convert a square-foot price, multiply it by 10.76. For example, $4.50 per sq ft is $48.42 per m². Measurements can still be taken in inches; the conversion happens for you.
Add your fabrics
Go to Admin › Products › Fabrics. Click Add fabric for each range and colour, or use Import fabrics to load a whole price book from a spreadsheet. On a product’s Fabrics tab, choose which fabrics can be picked for it.
Options and extras
On a product’s Variations tab you set the choices made per window: mount, control side, control type, hardware colour and cover. You can rename the options and add a price difference to any of them. Motors and other control products live in Admin › Products › Options.
Check your pricing settings
In Settings › Business, Sourcing Model says where your products come from. If you buy from local suppliers or wholesalers, choose Local suppliers so no import freight is added to your prices. If you import, check the freight rates per kg, your margin, and the exchange rate.
Test it with a real job
Open a measured job and click Create quote. Each window should now show a price. If a window shows no price, open that product and check its Pricing tab.
